Picture this at night, heavy rain, high winds, low overcast - and, if
you are lucky, you might get to see the last 10-15 seconds of the
approach. As has been said many times, "Anyone can land on a runway!" A carrier landing in an S-3. The copilot was filming with a home video camcorder. Nice calm seas and good footage. Notice the engine noise. That's why they call the S-3 a "Hoover." Note the green "meatball lights" the last few seconds.
