Bedsole campaign headquarters grand opening set Monday

The Ann Bedsole mayoral campaign will stage a grand opening of its main headquarters Monday, June 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The headquarters is located in the strip shopping center at the northwest corner of University Blvd. and Cottage Hill Road.

Refreshments, including mini-hamburgers, mini-hot dogs, soft drinks and more, will be provided. Balloons and an inflatable Space Walk will add to the festivities.

The Bedsole campaign will also establish satellite offices in the community for the greater convenience of prospective voters.

In public appearancs over the past month, Mrs. Bedsole has sought to convey her message about a Bedsole adminstration in City Hall.

An ally and staunch supporter of outgoing four-term incumbent Mayor Mike Dow, Mrs. Bedsole regularly praises the initiatives undertaken in recent years to revitalize the city. However, her campaign expresses a need for fiscal conservatism and a likely trimming of the administrative costs of city government. She has pledged to bolster an undermanned police department and restore merit raises. A sales tax reduction is necessary or the flight of businesses to areas outside Mobile's city limits will continue, she says. Mrs. Bedsole proclaims herself a believer in "supply side" economics which holds essentially that lower taxes and increased revenues can and do go hand-in-hand.

For more information and/or a further explanation, see Mrs. Bedsole at the grand opening.
