Bullard drops Mitsubishi

Joe Bullard Automotive, which represents eight automobile franchises in the Mobile area, announced today that it is voluntarily terminating its Mitsubishi franchise effective next month.

The facility located at 1017 East I-65 Service Road, South will become a used car super center.

“We continually examine and adjust our operational structure based on an annual business plan," Bullard explained. "Current and projected future business conditions dictate that our most effective use of this facility would be as a pre-owned and certified used car center.

"We have had a wonderful 21-year relationship with Mitsubishi Motors of North America and have the highest regard for their company and their outstanding products," Bullard added. "Unfortunately it does not fit our future business model.

According to Bullard, Mitsubishi will appoint a new dealer as soon as possible. Bullard said his company would endeavor to assure a smooth transition for its Mitsubishi owners.

The break with Mitsubishi does not affect any of Bullard's other operations in Mobile and Pensacola, he said.
