Secretary of State Chapman
creates business advisory board
MONTGOMERY -- Secretary of State Beth Chapman will form a Uniform Commercial Code Advisory Board to evaluate business procedures in the Secretary of State’s Office, she announced.
The first meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Star Wars Room at the Alabama State House in Montgomery. The public is invited to attend.
Chapman will convene representatives of the agriculture and business communities who receive services from the Secretary of State’s office to assess the existing services and recommend ways the office can run more efficiently and effectively, she said.
“While campaigning for Secretary of State it became apparent as I traveled across the state that we needed to look at how we could provide better services, and bring Alabama’s technology up-to-date in business services,” Chapman said.
“It is my hope to bring business people together who have expertise and can join me in looking at other states’ technology to resolve how we can improve our system and provide the most efficient and effective services possible for Alabama businesses.”
