I think Admiral Denton does not live in reality. He is homesick for 1950. However, it is not 1950 and maybe it never was. No amount of blathering about moral values and hard work will turn back the clock and one might as well forget that and turn one's attention to problems of today, such as health care and chaotic schools, and finding practical solutions.
Born in 1921, I have seen a lot of changes, some good, some bad, but in any case, the genie will not get back into the bottle and a stroll down memory lane leads to nowhere.
