Peavy's campaign files last finance report before election

City Councilman John Peavy entered the final days leading up to his bid for the city's mayorship in Tuesday's city elections with just $13,803.72 left in his campaign coffers, according to his final pre-election finance report.
Peavy entered the final 45 days of the campaign with a balance of $136,762.73, raised $31,325 during the period and spent $154,284.01.
Peavy, 51, will face opposition for mayor in the Aug. 23 municipal elections from former state Sen. Ann Bedsole, Mobile County Commissioner Sam Jones and former City Councilwoman Bess Rich.
