With Rane, the Byrne Campaign hopes it pours -- cash that is.
With the help of his his recently named statewide campaign chairman, the "Yella Fella" himself Jimmy Rane, GOP candidate for governor Bradley Byrne will open his campaign headquarters in Montgomery from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rane,
the architect
behind the
success of Great
Southern Wood,
is also a cowboy
character/pitchman
for the company's
pressure treated
pine. Rane toyed
with entering the
governor's race before backing off several months ago.
Rane's fund raising ability, marketing savvy and north Alabama connections are among the attractions for the Mobile attorney's first bid for statewide office.
The Byrne for Alabama headquarters in Montgomery is located at 2801 Vaughn Plaza Road, Suite L.
One sack leads to new SAC
Well known in local law enforcement circles here after a prior stint as the assistant special agent in charge of the Mobile FBI office, Tim Fuhrman will return as the Special Agent-in-Charge of the Mobile FBI office, according to informed Mobile Bay Times sources. Fuhrman succeeds outgoing Mobile FBI SAC Debra Mack who recently took an early retirement rather than a transfer out of Mobile. Fuhrman, who has a law degree, and his wife, who taught school here previously, resided in Rock Creek on his previous assignment here.
