Mobile still in the hunt
for KC-330 facility
WASHINGTON, DC Thursday, February 8, 2007 - U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) made the following comments today regarding the Northrop/EADS team’s decision to move forward in the tanker acquisition process:
“My primary interest is to ensure that the capabilities of our tanker fleet are the very best and that our armed forces receive the equipment they need to complete future operations. I am pleased that the Northrop/EADS team chose to move forward in the tanker acquisition process, and I am proud that Alabama is positioned to play a role as the future home of the KC-330 facility. I fully support a fair and open competition that will give the Air Force the ability to obtain the best platform for our service members at the best price for the taxpayer.”
